Hyperlinks in MSWord 2010. Target frame issue

I want to create some hyperlinks in a Word document and know how to do that. But I want the browsers to open new pages/tabs and want to include the "_blank" instruction as part of the Hyperlink dialog. I get offered the _blank option in the Target Frame dialog and can select it but Word ignores the instruction when I click ok. Any ideas on how I can persuade Word to accept the _blank target frame option? Most grateful for any advice.

Answer

I had a look at Acrobat and the user forums and it appears that hyperlinks in PDFs don't do the target="blank" type functionality in a browser unless you change the link to run a javascript line instead. See the following link for someone requesting this feature

You can download a 30 day free trial version of Acrobat from the Adobe website if you wanted to explore this further.
