How to make a numbered list with total item number being shown?

Hi Everyone,

I'd like to make a numbered list in Word 2010 with the total number of items being shown for each of the numbered item.

Let's say I'd like to make a list with 10 items, instead of showing as:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

6.

7.

8.

9.

10.

May I ask how can I make an auto-numbered list as below:

1/10

2/10

3/10

4/10

5/10

6/10

7/10

8/10

9/10

10/10

On the Home tab of the ribbon, click the dropdown arrow to the right of the Numbering button, and select Define New Numbering format... from the dropdown menu.

You'll see something like 1. in the Number format box. Leave the 1 unchanged (that's the automatic number), remove what's after it, and make it look like 1/10:

Click OK.

(You can also define a new paragraph style for this)

Joey,

Should be easy.

Click on the list arrow next numbering button in the paragraph group. Choose define new number format at the bottom. In the dialog, under numbering, click and delete the . type your / and the number 10, click OK.

Should do it for a list from 1 tot 10.
