how to get rid of side barwith microsoft ads in word

while working in word I have to look at this side bar which is flooded with ads from microsoft. these ads are moving and changing and it is making impossible to focus on work. can someone please sugest how to get tid of the side bar.

Answer
That's the Starter edition, which you got for free because it's supported by advertising. The only way to get rid of the ads is to pay for one of the other editions, such as Home & Student.

But note that this option does not prevent the display of advertisements. The article is very clear about this: "If you do not want advertisements to display, you should not use Office Starter. If you do not want to view personalized advertisements, you can disable this functionality." The only thing you are disabling is personalization of the ads.
