How to center page numbers in ms word 2010?

Hi guys,

Can someone one help me with this one?

The page number is already centered yet it's still more to one side than actually sitting in the middle of the page.

Does it have to do with margins?

Thanks in advance.

Answer

Centering is actually between indents if you are using center justification.

If you are using an Alignment Tab, that tab can be set to align between margins or indents.

If the left and right margins are not the same, centered between the margins doesn't mean centered on the page, of course. Indentation applied to the header (or footer) paragraph will also be a factor.
