Drag and Drop to Merge Documents

I was informed of a neat tool today for Word 2010.  Where you can Drag and Drop document s from Windows Explorer into a Word Doc to merge them together.  My problem is that it only brings in the first page.  i.e.

Doc1 = 12 pages

Doc2 = 4 pages

Doc3 = 2 pages

final merged doc..... 3 pages

Is there a step or flag or setting that I am missing to make this work correctly?

Answer
What you're doing with drag and drop is embedding "Word document objects" in the receiving document (equivalent to using Insert > Object > From file). The problem you're seeing is that no object (document, graphic, etc.) can display more than one page in the receiving document -- this has always been true in all versions of Word.

You can use Insert > Object > Text from File and choose another Word document to insert. Or you can open two documents at one time, copy everything from one document, and paste it into the other document. But drag and drop won't do.
