Add a section with columns then change back without losing continuous page numbering in word 2010

How do I change to columns then back to normal pages in a long document without losing the continuous page numbering and the same with one page needing to be landscape instead with portrait
Thanks Heather
Answer
Answer

Page number restarts are controlled at the section level, and when you insert columns, Word adds section breaks to text. To get continuous page numbering in Word, use the "Continue from previous section" option in the Page Number Format dialog box (Insert tab | Page Number | Format Page Numbers). This must be done for all sections in the document.
