running windows 7 ultimate 32-bit
OneNote version: 14.0.4760.10000 (32-bit)
As of October 21, 2010 my three main notebooks stopped syncing to my skydrive and give the following error at the top of the notebooks: "OneNote needs a password to sync some of your ntoebooks. Click here to see the list of sections and notebooks that require passwords."
I click that, it opens up the Shared Notebook Synchronization window at the Errors tab.
For all my notebooks it lists the following error: (for my privacy I will not be putting in the names of the notebooks or full urls to them)
I have the fix for this error:
as stated else where on the forums, delete all browsing history, cookies, saved passwords and form data from Internet Explorer via the Internet Options. then force sync OneNote. this will bring up the window to put in your Live ID info and you will be able to sync again.

This is a pretty simple fix, well its not a fix because nothing is broken
what is happening here is that the files folders are locked for safety reasons. OneNote lockes these files for the safety of the user, so in order to access these files/folders, you must use OneNote,,,i believe there is an option in OneNote to enable content folder for use in other apps ..... or you can try to use CCleaner to clean your cookis and try again.
you will not be able to access these files by windows explorer only, only with OneNote
hope this helped

I have int expl.ver.9, and this did not solve my problem - I can still not connect to my files - by OneNote and by Int.explorer. I can connect to the more resent onenote books, but not to older ones. I tried to send e-mail again from my work computer and invite myself on my home computer - also after having deleted all passwords, cookies etc. But none of the older books would reconnect. What can I do to resolve this situation???
Regards Helge...
I agree. I am able to get to the link through IE8 but when I connect through OneNote it is not allowing me to.
I am tried deleting all history, cache etc - I have even used CCCleaner to clean up registry links but it is still not working.
The only think I can think of it that it has to do with my company firewall. I can sync at home but not at the office, but I can get to the URL through the browser and log in.
Any advice?
