I'm in a new Sony VAIO laptop with Windows 7 installed and I had problems with my first installation of MS Office 2010, the Click-to-Run just took too long and clogged up the flow of things. I decided to uninstall Office and start again with an MSI installation method. The only way I could uninstall it was to use the c2rcleanup program. I thought it worked perfectly. Now i have found out Microsoft is not offering that as a solution any more because they had issues with it corrupting some other files or settings. Too late for me. I have now successfully re-installed MS Office without Click-to-Run but as a result of having unistalled Office via the c2rcleanup, my Excel files won't open if I click the files from My Documents folders. They do open from the xcel program side but not the other way around.

Anyone recognizes this problem and any easy solutions?

Thank you

Repair Office 2010.

1.    Click Start->Control panel->programs ->programs and features.

2.    Click on Office 2010->change.

3.    Click repair->continue.

4.    Follow the steps for file association in my previous post.

Good News

It did the trick. Thanks for sticing it out with me.

But just for those who might tune in on this conversation, it only worked when i used my setup CD's. I only got them in the mail today.

For some reason the "downloaded" program file i was using for all the repairs before did not really do the job or fix the problem.

Over and out
