OK im more than sure that this was not happening in the past. For the past week, for some strange reason every time i open a file in excel, it asks me if i want to save it on exit. Even though i click the save button before i exit excel, it asks me again.
In addition, even if i create a completely blank excel file, without even touching it, when i exit excel asks me the same damn question. What could have happened? Word for example is working totally fine even with blank documents!
i just did.. no luck.. this really started getting on my nerves..
Edit: okay i found the solution. there was an add-on called BeGraphic that was causing the problem. i uninstalled it and now i'm a happy camper.

As bizarre as it sounds it did NOT work. Only after I fully uninstalled the plugin the problem vanished. Go figure.. :)
Dear BeGraphic user,
As any other add-in, BeGraphic can't interact with Excel on the "Save" function. So Excel asks twice (one for addins, one for itself) to confirm the "Save" function.
That's because Excel was not designed to ask what modifications have been done by any add-in (or even if there is at least one modification done by any add-in). Therefore Excel asks twice the "Save" click.
If you're really upset with this double "Save" click (rather than a single one), you can disable BeGraphic totally... even for few hours (until next BeGraphic usage). To do so, you have to:
Hooray,
There is a new version available today (june 2011) improving the software on the website:

This difficulty won't happen anymore.
