The language DLL ‘VBE7INTL.DLL’ could not be found

I have Windows 7 Home Premium and Office Home and Student 2010.

While recording a macro in excel, I get the error : The language DLL ‘VBE7INTL.DLL’ could not be found.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\VBA\VBA7\1033 contains file VBE7INTL.DLL

Refer to the following thread and check if it helps:

Note: The thread link refers to the issue with the Excel 2007 application. However, the suggestions provided in the thread link holds good for Office 2010 as well.

  1. Open 'Programs and Features'
  2. Select the office client in question (in my case Microsoft Project Professional 2010) and click on 'Change'
  3. Select 'Add or Remove Features'
  4. Expand 'Office Shared Features'
  5. Change the install option for 'Visual Basic for Applications' to 'Installed on First Use' [it is available when you click on the disk icon]
  6. Go through the install process 
  7. Finally, open the office client again and select 'Visual Basic' in the 'Developer' tab (if you don't have this tab select 'File - Options - Customize Ribbon' and to turn it on)
This forced an update that fixed issue.
