Word 2013 stole my 2007 documents

I use Office 2007 and recently inserted my flash drive on a system using 2013. All of my Word 2007 documents were converted to 2013 and now I cannot open them on my system using 2007. How do I retrieve my documents using Word 2007?

What did you open, run or install from your flash drive to the PC that has Office 2007?

Have you inserted the Office 2007 and run a repair?

Do you have an Office 2013 trial installed, if so uninstall it.
