Word 2007 - File not found

Since implementing a restore point (Win 7), word 2007 fails to open .doc and .docx files giving "file not found". Office 2007 has been uninstalled and reloaded to no avail. Files can be moved to different PC and open just fine with word 2007. Files associations seem to be in order. Any ideas?
In the Windows Control Panel, choose Programs & Features. Click on the Office 2007 icon and click the Change button. Select the Repair option and click Continue. Wait for the repair to finish, then try Word.

Thanks Jay. That did make some improvement. I still get the 'file not found' when I click on the file but now when I open Word 2007 first, I can open the doc within Word.

Although the repair should have fixed up any problems in the registry, there are additional steps you can take now. You may find that the procedure in http://www.gmayor.com/Document_Not_Found.htm fixes the problem.

I have the same problem. Last night my documents were saved to word. When I went to open them right now, the "file could not be found" message came up. I followed your steps and the message still shows up. any other ideas of what I can do?
