Section Headers - following the instructions doesn't work

Hi, I have created a document and am now creating headers (chapters) for each section.  I have followed the instructions per the video/help, but changing the Header in one scetion, changes all of them.  This is so frustrating - I'm sure there's something very simple (but not obvious!) that I'm not doing.  Any help would be much appreciated.

I am:
Inserting a section break (this is working, as the header is a different section number)
Clicking the link to previous to unlink them

I have also tried ticking the Different first page to see if this worked.

I am using one of the Word Header templates, is this the problem?

Answer

I'm no expert, but here is the answer to your frustrating problem.  Follow the instructions for un-linking the sections just as you did.  THEN (and I can not find this explained anywhere), go into the un-linked header you want to change, right click, and then click on REMOVE CONTENT CONTROL.  Then you should be able to change the header to anything you want without affecting the previous section.
