Runtime Error 429

I am running Windows 7 and Office 2007.  When opening MS Word, I first get an error message that asks me if I want to allow MS Word to make changes to the computer.  If I say No, Word does not run.  If I say Yes, I then get the error message of Run-time error 429: ActiveX compenent can't create object.  I click End and Word seems to work o.k., but this is really a nuisance.  Attachements from email will not open at all.  I cannot run Word just by clicking on a file.  I have to first run Word independently and then use the File->Open in order to get my documents opened.  I've tried reading about things to fix the Runtime error, but many of the things do not make any sense to me since I have not done any special programming.  I just installed the software and that's it.

Thanks
