How to print a Word document in draft mode using Windows 7

I have just switched to Windows 7 and am trying to print in draft - quicker and cheaper.  This was easy in Windows XP.  Is the facility still there with Windows 7?
Nothing to do with the version of Windows and all to do with your printer.

Hi Gordon

However, I have the same printer as before, and I could print in draft by clicking on 'Preferences' in the print box without doing any changes to my printer.  What do I need to do with my printer?

You should be able to do exactly the same thing.  However, it was probably Properties that you clicked on; not Preferences.

Open Word > Click Office button > ‘Word Options’ > ‘Advanced’ > Check ‘Use draft quality’ check box and then try to print.

Thank you for replying.  I had found this facility and have ticked the box for draft quality but it is still giving me a good copy.  I thought there must be something else.  Perhaps I do need to do something to my printer that I didn't have to previously.

Where is the Office button to click? I didn't see on any of the Word tabs.

The "Office" button is the pizza-like round object at the top left-hand corner of the Word window.
