How can I save my Quick Access Toolbar settings in Windows 7?

I have looked thru my Microsoft Office Program files and have run a search for *qat files and come up empty. Should I be looking for *qat files in Windows 7, or another type of file. I would like to save my settings in case I have to reinstall Office 2007 or purchase another computer. The toolbars are really time consuming to set up.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate-64bit

For W2007, you should find it here:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\Word.qat

Note that QATs can also be saved to documents and templates.

The *.qat files should be in the folder C:\Users\<your name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office. Ordinarily, the AppData folder and everything under it is hidden, which probably explains why your search failed to find the files.

In Windows Explorer, click Organize > Folder and Search Options. In the dialog, click the View tab. Under Hidden Files and Folders, click the option for "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" and click OK. Now your search should find the files, or you can just go directly to the folder.
