Problem exporting Outlook 2007 Contacts - how do I switch from EX to SMTP EmailType to ensure email addresses export to a CSV?

I'm using Outlook 2007 driven by a company managed Exchange server.

I'd like to export my Outlook Contacts to a CSV.

When I export my contacts to a CSV, entries with a EX EmailType do not contain the correct email address, whereas those entries with a SMTP EmailType do.

Example text from my exported CSV file in Excel (the x's merely strip out identifiable info, but illustrate the issue):

- EX Email Type entry in the EmailAddress field: '/o=ON Semiconductor/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=ffym9h

- SMPT EmailType entry in the EmailAddress field: *** Email address is removed for privacy ***

Any suggestions on how to remedy this?

The email addresses in the EX entries do have valid email address records in the Address Card view, but not on the "Outlook Data Files" view.

Thanks for any help.

Answer

There is no way to do that via the native export Outlook process.

You may be interested in ContactGenie QuickPort (combined contact import/export program) which does allow you to export either address (among many other things)
