I uninstalled Trend Micro anti-virus program yesterday because it was using up all of the space on my 500GB HD. I followed the instrucitons from one of your answer tech Rob Brown using the Trend Micro ToolKit and regained almost 300GB of space. All good, except when I open Outlook I get message below:
The add-in Redemtion Helper Outlook Ext. "(C:\Program\Trend Micro\Internet Security\TMAS-OL\Redemption.dll) Cannot be loaded or has been disabled by outlook please contact the add-in manufacturer for an update. If no updae available please uninstall Add-in.
I spent three hours last night working with Micro Trend to try to remove it and so far nothing works. I cannot locate the Redemption.dll file anywhere on my computer. Rob Brown has directed me to this forum. Can someone help me out on this?
Thanks Much,
Cate
Sorry, I forgot that Office 2007 was not totally "ribbonized", specifically Outlook still had menu. I don't have outlook 2007 so I can't look at it.
I gave you instruction for the ribbon that didn't apply to Outlook. This page has the instructions you need:

I think that the problem isn't a broken redemption.dll file, it is that outlook is looking for it and not finding it.
If you haven't already done it, try going into Office button / Excel Options button / Add-ins option. Find Trend in ther and deactivate it. You may have to use the "Manage"/Go button at the bottom of the panel to find it.
Note: you will probalby have to be running as adminstrator to make this work, or you could try doing it in safe mode
Run As AdminYour problem is probably with the registry. There is an error where your userid is not being allowed to update the activation information.
What you need to do is "runas admin":
If that doesn’t work try this:
Activate the application/office:
What is 'Run as Administrator' in Windows 7?
If that doesn’t work, try rebooting into Safe mode to do the install/activation.
Start Win7 in safe mode - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Hi Rohn,
I am not very technical so you will have dumb this down a bit for me please. :)
The first part - Office button / Excel Options button / Add-ins option. Find Trend in ther and deactivate it. You may have to use the "Manage"/Go button at the bottom of the panel to find it. Where do I find these options and buttons?
Thanks,
Cate
