Office 2016 splitscreen El Capitan

Kay...kaboom asked on

Hi,

I update Office Word for Mac 2016 from 15.12.3 to 15.14. Now I have the problem that I got the message that Word isn't available in split screen mode of El Capitan. It worked all well in 15.12.3. Anyone have the same problems or a solution?

Greets,

Kay

Hi Kay,

If that feature is important then restore your system from a backup to a time prior to your updating to 15.14.

Also please send a Frown to Microsoft using the Smiley/Frown control on the ribbon telling them about this bug in the latest release. Include in your message that you are running El Capitan.

Hi,

I found the reason for the problem in my case. As long as some kind of bar, in my case the navigation bar (View -> Navigation) on the left side of the window is active, it is not possible to switch to split screen. If you deactivate the bar its works fine.

How do you find the navigation bar?

I've tried unchecking all the other settings and split screen still doesn't seem to work

If you still need it, View , second part from the left, bottom one, in German its Navigationsbereich, English something with Navigaton..

The Navigation Pane can be turned on from the main menu: View> Sidebar> Navigation or by checking the Navigation Pane checkbox in the Show group of the View tab on the Ribbon.

Turn the Sidebar off by clicking the ⊗ in its upper right corner or by clearing the checkbox.

Please mark HELPFUL or ANSWERED as appropriate to keep list as clean as possible ☺
