Visual Basic errors in Powerpoint 2010

Colleagues:

A presentation that I've used for many years which embeds a number of visual basic macros stopped working last month; I think this was related to an "important" update to Microsoft Office 2010 from December 2014. Similar macro errors have been reported on the Interwebs affecting Excel.

The specific errors I am getting are as follows:

When I open the file: "Some controls in this presentation can't be activated. They might not be registered on this computer."

When I debug the Visual Basic macros, two separate errors each appear several times:

"Compile error: Function call on left-hand side of assignment must return Variant or Object."

"Compile error: Method or data member not found."

Any insight as to how to rectify this situation would be greatly appreciated. I would be happy to post the code if it would be helpful.

Thank you all!

Best advice seems to be search for and delete any files in TEMP with an .exd extension.

After that I would post the code.
