No Presenter View Option WHEN RECORDING

(NOTE: I have the following problem in both the Rehearse Timings and Record Slide Show mode.)

On my main, external Monitor, 1, I set the PPT to use the Presenter View and the laptop Monitor 2 to show the presentation being recorded:

The laptop monitor is showing the presentation, as it should, but there is no "Presenter View" option in its menu. Presumably, that's because that view is being used by Monitor 1:

However, the Monitor 1 is not showing the Presenter, but Normal View!

What am I missing? :-(

PowerPoint 2016:
The rehearse/record with presenter view does not work when accessed using the "Slideshow" tab as shown above, however there is a way to make it work as shown:

Go into the File tab, Options, and select Customize Ribbon.

Click the box to add Recording to the ribbon.

Ensure you have selected Use Presenter View on the Slideshow tab, then go to the Recording Tab to use the Record Slide Show function. The Presenter View will appear, use the red button to begin recording as shown in the screenshot above.
