Hello Seemamusthafa,

We appreciate you reaching out to us with your concern regarding the PowerPoint Start Inking option that is not enabled. We want to get to the bottom of this as much as you do, so let’s work on this together.

Your effort in isolating that the problem is only persistent with PowerPoint and not with the other Office application are indeed admirable. In line with this, we can say that the issue has something to do with the PowerPoint app itself.

Let’s try to perform the following troubleshooting steps that usually resolves problem with the PowerPoint app:

1. Open Outlook in Safe Mode

If you’re using the PowerPoint app, please open it in safe mode. This is useful when you have problem with Office application's feature that isn’t working as expected. This way, we can also identity if there are add-ins or extension that may be causing the problem. To open Outlook in safe mode, press Windows key > Type powerpnt /safe, and click OK.

2. Update Office and Windows 10

We suggest that you install the latest updates for Windows 10 because updates often fix this kind of issue. For further information, please check this article: Update Windows 10. Also, make sure that your Office applications are also updated. Restart your device, next launch Outlook, then check if you will encounter the same behavior.

3. Repair Office

If Office isn't working as expected, repairing will sometimes fix the issue. To do so, please follow the steps in this article: Repair an Office application. When you’re done, you might need to restart your computer.

4. Uninstall and reinstall

Just in case running Repair didn't help, you may also consider uninstalling and reinstalling the Office application. To sort this out, let’s uninstall Office with the help of the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant (SaRa) tool. This diagnostic tool will help you uninstall Office as well as remove the software traces that might be causing the issue.

Once uninstalled, please install Office 365 with the help of this article: Download and install or reinstall Microsoft 365 or Office 2019 on a PC or Mac. Indicated in the article are the guide on how to install and activate Office.
