icloud add-in for outlook does not load

SteveHuett asked on

I have the Icloud sync working for calendar and contacts between icloud and Outlook--  but when I close Outlook, the icloud Add-in for Outlook does not load--  the icloud label does not appear on the ribbon at top of Outlook.  I must go to File> Options> Add-ins> Manage Com Add-ins---  and manually check iCloud Addin to get it loaded.  It will not load at start-up automatically as it should.

Hello,

On another forum, someone found the following solution which seems to be working well & easy at least for win7/outlook2013 users:

Start Menu > regedit

Select :

Computer/HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/OFFICE/OUTLOOK/ADDINS - Apple.DAV.Addin -

On the right, double-click on LoadBehavior and check the value: if it say 0, set it to 3.

Good luck !

Hello Steve,

As per the issue description which you've provided, I understand that iCloud add- in doesn't load automatically in Outlook.

I will help you to resolve this issue.

This could be an iCloud add-in related problem. But you may try these steps and verify the result:

1) Uninstall and re-install iCloud from Control Panel, start Outlook and verify the result.

a) Go to Control Panel

b) Click Programs

c) Click Uninstall a program

d) Right click on iCloud and uninstall it.

e) Once removed, reinstall the iCloud program.

2) Create a new Outlook profile, configure iCloud account and verify the result. Refer to the following article for instructions on how to create new profile in Outlook:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/create-an-outlook-profile-HA102749460.aspx?CTT=1

You may also check if there is any new updated version of iCloud released for Windows 8.1.

I hope the above steps helps. If you need any further assistance reply and I'll be happy to further to assist you.

Thank You.

This didn't solve my problem.
I did the following.

1. Deleted the existing Outlook profile.
2. Uninstalled Icloud pannel.
3. Created a new Outlook profile.
4. Set up email accounts.
5. Downloaded the latest Icloud Control panel.
6. Rebooted computer.
7. Installed the latest Icloud Control Panel.
8. Logged in to the Icloud Control Panel and set up Outlook.
9. Rebooted computer.
10. Launched Outlook.

After all of this I still had to manually start the Icloud Control Panel add in.

It is pretty frustrating to have to manually start the add every time I start Outlook.

I would appreciate any help you can give me.

I have the same problem as do many others.  The iCloud Outlook add-in will not load automatically when Outlook is started and must be manually loaded.

We are using Outlook 2013, Windows 8, iCloud 3. Some update in November must have broken this. It was syncing and the "refresh" button used to show automatically in Outlook 2013.

Some people have said to activate the iCloud Outlook add-in as Administrator. Yes, it seems to stay "activated" after Outlook is stopped and started if we stay logged on as Admin. However, when we try to run as a regular User, the add-in is listed as "inactivated". As a regular User, we can "activate" it, but it only stays for the session. If we stop and restart Outlook, it becomes "inactivated" again.

I have the same problem. I cannot add my icloud addin on outlook 2013.  i've done all these steps recommended, but my icloud addin stubbornly remains a Diabled Application Add-In. when i right click the add-in the Outlook Options window it says "Add-in was disabled by the user after a Data Execution Prevention Failure". When i try to add the add-in and point to the location of the APLZOD32.dll nothings happens. Can someone help me?

Hello Aksel,

Let's try the following and verify the result:

1) Start the computer as a regular user.

2) Run Outlook and iCloud add in with full rights and verify the result.

a) Go to the following location:

Windows 32bit:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\Office 15
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClentX86\Root\Office15.

Windows 64bit:
C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office 15\Office 15
C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office 15\ClentX86 or ClientX64\Root\Office15.

b)
Look for Outlook/Outlook.exe.

c) Right click on it and select Properties and click on Security tab.

d) Now click on Edit > select all the users > check Full Control options for all and click on Apply > OK > OK

3) Do the same for iCloud add in, restart the computer and verify the result.

If issue still persists, repair the Office suite and see if it helps:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/repair-office-programs-HA010357402.aspx

You may also get in touch with Apple support for better suggestions.

Hope the above information helps. Reply for further assistance.

Thank You.

I have a similar situation.  The icloud add-n stopped loading in outlook 13 (office 365) running on windows 8.1.  I could load it manually when running as administrator.  I tried all the solutions I found here and on other sites to no avail.

My problem now is that I followed one suggestion to delete the add-in and reinstall.  Deleting was no problem, but I cannot find out how to reinstall.  I reinstalled icloud and that didn't solve the problem of the now-missing aplzod dll.

What do I do now?

Thanks

I think this is a very big problem for Microsoft.  A lot of people have this problem I think.

The add-on is microsoft certified , but not working ...  strange .....  keep up the faith, for a while.
