Outlook 2010 sending error (0x800CCC78)

I have tried the 'outgoing server authentication' as suggested by many answers to the same error several times, but no luck, emails used to send no problem, any other ideas?

This does not solve the issue, emails sent fine since Outlook 2010 was installed for the last 9 months

Try to 'test the account settings' to see if it passes through.

 

Click File > Account Settings > Click the email account > Test account settings.

 

If the test account setting works and you are still not able to send - receive emails, Create new Outlook profile following the steps from the KB below, setup the email account and verify the results:
