MAPI_E_Unconfigured (0x8004011c) error when opening Outlook 2010 after upgrading to Windows 8

rbilas asked on
Yesterday I upgraded from Windows 7 to 8. Since then I am getting an error "Failed to open message store after locating it in table. MAPI_E_Unconfigured (0x8004011c) when I open Outlook 2010.

Also I am not able to access my icloud folders.

Any suggestions?

Can't help you with iCloud but have you tried doing a repair install of Office 2010 since the upgrade?

I tried the repair as you suggested, but it didn't fix either of the issues.  Any other ideas?

I had the same problem. I fixed it by going to File | Options | Addins and disabling the two addins - iCloud and one other. hope this helps.

iCloud control panel seems completely knackered in Windows 8 - hopefully there will be an update for that soon....

I am also experiencing this problem after upgrading to Windows 8. I have traced it to the Add-In created by the following program I have installed: http://www.codetwo.com/sync-for-icloud/

If I disable this Add-In (CodeTwo Sync for iCloud), the error message is not presented when opening Outlook 2010.

Disabling other Add-Ins, including the main iCloud Outlook Add-In, do not remedy this problem.

I have contacted the author of the CodeTwo Sync for iCloud program and will advise the input received and any corrective action which can be taken to overcome.

My update is the CodeTwo Sync for iCloud program is being portrayed as not usable in a Windows 8 environment. Unfortunately, in addition to the issues described above, I can confirm the basic functionality of that program is also gone after I "upgraded" to Windows 8.

Just "upgraded" to Windows 8.1 and am again experiencing this problem. Assuming iCloud is the culprit as it was previously, hopefully Apple will update iCloud for Windows ASAP.

And for those following this thread...upgrading 8.1 to Windows 10 results in the same issue. CodeTwo Sync for iCloud causes the identical MAPI error to occur upon opening Outlook.

It would appear that the Windows 10 anniversary update causes the issue again.
