Works application error Oxc 0000018

I am running Microsoft  Works 7, but when I try to open one of my files or even try to create a new database file I now get a message (the application was unable to start correctly (Oxc 0000018).Click OK to close the application 

 I have tried reinstalling with no success

My PC is a Compaq running Windows 7 Home

 

Any help would be apprieciated as I need to use these data bases

Run the application in compatibility mode using the following steps.

Start > computer > c: > program files > MS Works > wkswp.exe > right click > properties > compatibility >check box ' run compatibility for win XP with sp2'
