Jet Engine Problem

I just purchased a new Lenovo G560 with W7.  I am using Office 2003 professional.  What I am trying to do is an Append Query to delete duplicate entries from a table.  Each time I click the run button, I get the message,"The Microsoft jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time."  To my knowledge, I am the only one using this computer.  Why is this happening?

As Doug says, it is just an access error and nothing to do with the new computer. It is just coincidence that you are using a new computer with W7 at the same time as this error.

If you don't have a form open, there must be something else open that is using the table/s involved, apart from your append query.

Close all other reports, queries and tables and then run the append query.

I have not heard of the mvp's using GoToMeeting or similar on these forums.
