Outlook 2016 for Mac no Export Option

theVST asked on

I just upgraded to the Mac 2016 and there is no exporting Contacts in Outlook at all. Not even it a CSV file.

What gives?

It just seems Microsoft and Apple are never going to get along.

It'e really easy to export the contacts now.  Select them all, then drag and drop to a folder.  Sort by kind because in addition to .vcf files, you will have .txt files for your groups.  At that point, select all the .vcf files, drag and drop them onto the left side of the Mac Contacts page, and let it rip.

I copied over 2600 contacts this way.  It is correct you can't export to .csv, but that is because Microsoft has actually made it easier.

Hi

Fair enough it's easy to move contacts from application to application.  But I want to modify loads of my contacts in one go and the easiest way to do this is through cvs using excel.

Is there no way of doing this now?

There is no way of doing this from within Outlook now…
I know it’s sad :-\

I know I’d export to .vcf in the Finder, then I’d use BBEdit to batch modify all files through regular expressions, but most people would shy away from that type of technical approach :-\
