How to delete windows phone 7 search auto-fill history?

Windows Phone User KC asked on
When using Windows Phone 7 explorer and typing in a text search there is text that auto displays from previous searches. Is there a way to clear this history or go in and manage the list previously search words and phrases?

Here you go, you can thank me later.

Open up the Bing Search rather than opening IE.  I use the magnifying glass on the front screen.  When that opens you will have a 3 dotted "settings" just like the others.  Use it to get into your search settings.  I changed some other stuff but also cleared again and it worked for me.  No autofill stuff carries over.

I accept payments by check and money order.

Greetings, thanks for the reply. But as far as I can tell that only deletes page browsing history but not the auto-fill list of previously searched terms terms and phrases.

Do you have any other suggestions or questions to help me clarify the issue?

Thank you!

Go to the SETTINGS button at the last. NOT the RECENT button. You'll find it down after the FIND ON PAGE button.

Yes, I follow, that is the Delete History button I've used and there is still the auto-fill list of search terms listed in a drip list of words and phrases previously searched (when launching the browser and typing in a search term or phrase the browser automatically lists words in a drop list of phrases that match as you type terms to search.

Is this making any sense?

At one point a couple years ago I thought I came across something indicating that one had to use the desktop Zune software to delete this search term history, and I successfully cleared this search history. But, I could not find a reference to that any more and when looking around in the Zune software I could not find any options, so maybe I'm not recalling correctly it a few updates of Zune or Windows Phone software have eliminated that option?

Any way, sorry again sorry if I can't describe this any be better. I'm would just like to clear out the search term history that displays my misspellings and/ or things I've searched for in the past that are not relevant any more so looking to clear it and start over with the auto-fill/auto-suggested terms and phrases that drip down display in the browser search.

Hopefully this helps, thanks again for your time and response!

Greetings Windows Phone User KC:

Thanks for posting on the board!

There is currently no way to remove the auto-fill terms you have accumulated over time asides from hard reseting the phone.

This can be done by going to Settings > About > Reset my phone. Please be aware if you hard reset your phone, all content will be removed from your phone. Your contacts and paid applications will be saved to your account, so you can access them next time you log into your phone (although you will need to redownload your applications). As far as music and videos and pictures go, please make sure to back them up using the Zune software.

There are several people who have mentioned deleting the auto-fill results on the official suggestion page, and you can place your votes there for this feature or list your own recommendation.

Best regards,

Iris.
