Outlook for Mac 2016 - how to change auto send/receive interval?

I have Outlook for Mac version 15.9 (150408)

It only gets new messages from the server once per hour or so. I want to receive messages "instantly" or every minute.

How do I change the automatic send/receive interval?

In Outlook 2016 try this:

Tools > Accounts > Advanced

Change this setting:

Sync all IMAP folders every x minutes

I don't have an Exchange account configured on this Mac, so if there is a setting, I would expect it in the same general place in Outlook.

Be sure to include the version number and OS version when asking your question.
