Windows Store won't Update and Install Apps Error 0x80073cf1

Hello,

The title says it all, I can't update nor install Apps. Neither in the Store nor in the Store (beta) App. I have already tried to reset the store and it didn't work. This problem persists since the first technical preview.

Thanks for your help,

Dominik

Hi Zeke009,

At the time of the previous reply those tools and troubleshooters were working fine. Microsoft is aware that these tools are not working as of now. These will be fixed in the future updates and patches.

If you are facing the same issue then you may refer to this thread to know more about Store (Beta).

How to repair the new “Store (Beta)” in Windows 10 Technical Preview: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_store/how-to-repair-the-new-store-beta-in-windows-10/d904b96d-731f-42d5-b858-161105381279?tm=1424456609665

For the Store green tile, you may reset the Store cache and check if the issue persists.

  • Press “Windows key + R” to get the run window.

  • Enter “wsreset.exe” in the Run command and then tap or click OK.

Once this is done, restart the computer and open the store to check if this helps.

Hi Dominik,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community Forums.

This issue might occur due to some incorrect system file settings associated with the store. The Store (Beta) is a grey tile which cannot be used as of now. You need to use the store green tile.

Sorry to know that you are facing this issue.

Let’s run the Apps Troubleshooterand check if that helps. After running the troubleshooter, restart the computer and try to install the app updates. The Apps Troubleshooter is an automated tool which we have developed to address a number of known issues that can prevent the Apps from running properly. This troubleshooter automatically fixes some issues, including suboptimal screen resolution, incorrect security or account settings etc.

If issue persists, refer to the remaining steps from the help article and check.

If the issue persists, then run Windows Update to correct problems by replacing out-of-date files, updating drivers, and fixing vulnerabilities.

Follow these steps:

  • Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap “Search”.

(If you're using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Search.)

  • Enter “Update” in the search box, and then tap or click “Check for updates”.

  • Download and install any updates from Windows Update.
