Windows Installation Error 0x80300024

IFLYGVS asked on

I am trying to install Windows 10 on my HP h9-1215t Phoenix Windows 7 Desktop. I have 3 hard drives:

Disk 0: 256GB SSD with the W7 operating system.

Disk 1: 256GB SSD new and formatted.

Disk 2: 2TB WD HHD for data.

When I get to the "Where do you want to install windows?" screen and select either Disk 1 or 2 I receive error 0x80300024.  I tried adding a new partition to Disk 1 with the same results.  There is an option to load driver, but I am not sure were to find the driver.

I do not know what to do next?

See if this applies--Use a dvd or thumb drive that was burned from the iso file--not just copied. Boot to the dvd or thumb drive and select Custom install which should allow you to choose the correct drive. I would select the sata drive instead of the ssd drives. I would even remove the second ssd drive and just use the WD drive as the second drive.

Are all the drive working and recognized by windows? The sata drivers should be available from HP. Use the windows 8 sata drivers.

Disconnect Disk 2 and re-run setup and select the SSD. You can always reattach the 2 TB data drive after setup is complete or the other way around, if you want to install on the 2 TB drive instead, disconnect Disk one.

Thank you for the response.

I tried all of the suggested solutions to no avail. I even tried to create a virtual desk top, but it would not allow me to install the 64 bit setup.  After going through all of this, I believe the problem is I have W7 Home Premium installed on my desktop and I would not have this issues if I had W7 Professional or Ultimate.

I guess I will wait for W10 to be published.

There is a simpler and different way to solve this problem. At least I solved this way. You may try your luck.
This is assuming that you are installing windows on second HDD / SSD on laptop.

1. Delete all the partitions of second HDD / SSD where you want to install windows as clean install.
2. Use AOMEI Partition assistant. I used that. You can try other software.
3. Let the disk space remain unallocated. Don't fomat.
4. Boot from windows installation media ( CD/ DVD/ USB).
5. Select this unallocated space for installation.
6. Enjoy........
Remeber that if your main OS is running on GPT (UEFI) partition scheme than you should make a EFI bootbale installation media.

I have a Dell XPS 14 laptop running windows 8.1 on my HDD. I have another 80 GB SSD. I used that SSD to install windows 10 technical preview and now successfully able to dual boot.

just remove the other disc via remove the cable

and re input to the windows setup and join

در این موقع تعداد هارد های متصل شما زیاد هست

فقط کافیست سایر هارد ها رو با کابل قطع کنین

و دوباره وارد نصب ویندوز شوید
