unable to update from W10 enterprise 9926 to 10041 - 0xc1900200,

hi all,

I'm having no luck updating to 10041. I'm running enterprise 9926 right now, and the update shows up:

It reaches 100%. "preparing to install" goes to 9%, then I get:

and

Hitting retry results in:

I can reliably reproduce this problem.

My system is a HP elitebook 8570w, core I7 3740QM, 32GB ram.

I've already tried this (amongst other things): http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_update/windows-10-technical-preview-build-9860-fails/c7a2ab71-249b-4f74-bc35-5e3ec3c2bda1

Any thoughts?

Thanks a bunch.

1. Open a Command Prompt (Run as Administrator)
2. Type: cd %windir% and press the Enter key.
3. Type: net stop wuaserv and press the Enter key
4. Type: ren softwaredistribution softwaredistribution.old and press the Enter key.
5. [ Note: if you get an error message, ignore and type the above again and press Enter ]
6. Type: net start wuauserv and press the Enter key.
7. Type: Exit and press Enter, then go back and check for Windows Updates again.

If that does not work, download the .ESD for Windows 10 Enterprise build 10041 and convert into a .ISO and do a build to build updat:

thanks, but still no dice. The first method gave me another error message (didn't note it down, stupidly), and the iso message results in this:

Try resizing the recovery partition to about 500 MBs to 1 GB and try again. I noticed my recovery partition is 2 GBs.

First, create a recovery drive (Windows key + X > Control Panel > File History > create recovery drive).

Use partitioning tool such as Easeus Partition Manager to resize it.

http://download.cnet.com/Easeus-Partition-Manager-Home-Edition/3000-2248_4-10863346.html

Restart if prompted.

If you are unable to boot

Use the recovery drive to do a startup repair.

an alternative method, use the following:

Error when installing Build 10041: “Windows can’t be installed because this PC has an unsupported disk layout for UEFI firmware.”

unfortunately, neither of the suggestions work. The MSR partition was created (I can see it in the command line), but it doesn't show up in the disk management tool. Maybe I should just wait for the next build.
