I can not install Windows 10 on a laptop Samsung RF510

Hello!

The problem with the installation of any test assembly windows 10 on a laptop Samsung RF510 and its variations (several topics in the Russian-speaking forum. Answer no. In other forums too, the answer is no). That is a common problem for all users of the Samsung Notebook Series R with the BIOS - Phoenix SecureCore (tm) Setup Utility, in particular version 03GB .. Formatting the hard disk does not solve the problem.

During a clean installation of a BIOS (with the stick or DVD-ROM) hangs on the first intro. I, like many other users trying to configure the BIOS, but nothing helps. The same situation occurs with the installation of Update after the first reboot the notebook.

If you do the installation from the stick out of the system after the first reboot and hangs on the logo. If you manually restart your computer, then load the old OS with error window.

Build windows 10 clearly do not want to work with this BIOS. Developers can finally decide this issue, because soon have out final assembly. Or maybe someone knows a solution, I beg you suggest. Thank you very much!

August 9: The only currently working on a way to install Windows 10 OS on a laptop Samsung RF 510 - a withdrawal of the native module WiFi Broadcom, replacing it with WiFi module from another manufacturer (eg Atheros AR5B225) or using an external USB WiFi module. Details on the procedure for replacing a module on page 21topics in the first post. Or wait for the decision from Microsoft.

P.S.

The problem is relevant for those laptops Samsung, as well as some other manufacturers of laptops, which is installed on the WiFi module Broadcom and has Phoenix BIOS.

I did it !

Quite hard to remove the cover when all scews were removed. But finally all went OK.

I just have a problem with the Wifi Card I replaced: I got this message:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.

I didn't have time to investigate further, maybe somebody has an idea.

But Windows10 is installed and running, connected via the good old cable...

Here some pictures:

You need to remove the Hard Disks

Be carefull with HardDisk connectors

There it is!

Don't forget to pass the HardDisk connectotrs through the cover when placing back

Probably you already did it, but you can try update the drivers in the Device Manager or search the manufacturer's website.

Thanks to all guys for supporting each other. And after all, my wait is over and TODAY, I keep my heart tight, forget about Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, opened up my laptop and REMOVE my Broadcom network card. My mind says no, but my heart not favoring. He forced me to make  this decision to remove the card. Now in future, if any fixture came, then I replace the card again. In night, I going to start my upgrading process and may be tomorrow I will inform you, when succeed.

Just a quick update,

I am in the middle of lots of work at the moment which involves writing on my laptop so hard to squeeze in the time to try upgrading to Win 10.

But last night took laptop apart and installed new Intel Dual band wifi card. I followed the photos and instructions people have kindly posted and all went well. (The advice to use a credit card to open the case was brilliant). Took me about 30 minutes. My Samsung RC510 recognised the card and the Intel driver was up to date in device manager. I should add though that the Intel Driver Update Utility failed in all three installation operations it attempted but I figured if it says up to date in device manager I should be fine. I then attempted to upgrade to Windows 10. This time the installation went further, to the point where it showed the circles and percentage of installation. But then failed and reverted back again to 8.1. The error code was now different though - C1900101.

Unfortunately I have to go to New Zealand next week and won't be able to attempt again until I return. I will then check all my drivers, attempt a completely clean install and see if that works, and if not try an Atheros card unless Microsoft comes up with a solution for Samsungs.

Blessings everyone,

Bruce

Just to wrap things up on my installation odyssey: I last mentioned that I had successfully installed W10 after taking out the Broadcom WLAN card and replacing it with with an Atheros. I was baffled that everything worked, except that the WiFi was not switching on automatically after reboots. I suspected that it had something to do with W10, and replaced the Atheros with an Intel dual-band: same result.

After chasing innumerable wild geese to find a workaround, I found the problem: there was a screw loose behind the steering wheel. During the course of attempting every conceivable W10 install recipe, I had switched off the WLAN in my BIOS, and forgotten to to switch it back on after the new installations! Now everything works fine.

Thanks to everyone on this forum for all their work!
