Client for NFS is not licensed for use on this version of Windows error windows 10 14393.10

I am seeing a curious error in my event log.

" Client for NFS is not licensed for use on this version of Windows. "

I am running a licensed copy of Windows 10 Pro, and the NFS client option appears in the windows add/remove component list, so why is windows telling me my version of windows can't use it?

Hi,

I suggest you to post your query in TechNet forum which is better suited for the issue. Thank you.

No, thats not helpful.  Typical circular responses.

Why is it an option but says not licensed?   Even win10 anniv has it

Client for NFS was added to the Professional SKU in Windows 10 Anniversary Update (1607).

Previously it was included only in Enterprise / Ultimate SKUs.

We've identified a bug in that change causing it not to function on Pro SKU,  which we'll be fixing and releasing in a future Windows Update package.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Tom Jolly

I will be glad when they get it fixed. I have 76,000 errors in the last 7 days alone. 13101 in the last hour.

Is there anything we can do in the interim to at least stop Windows from using resources to write these errors?

Thanks,

Paul

Still giving the not licensed error....

Client for NFS is not licensed for use on this version of Windows.

Wake the heck up microsoft, or write something to explain.

WHY DO WE DEPEND ON HEARSAY, YOUR OWN TECH PEOPLE ARENT HERE ANSWERING IT.

I really hate how so many things are undocumented.

ex:  IsMasterBrowser value.

You got places saying its :

reg_sz  true/false

reg_sz yes/no

dword  0/1

What the heck is it?  Even microsoft's page for it wasnt clear.

But still, it's 100x better than Apple.  SAD
