VirtualBox causes start-up failure and BSOD

Hi Guys,

Device:

Surface Pro 3 64gb

Replication Steps (Starting with Surface pro at factory settings):

1) Install all optional and required updates in windows 8.

2) Run windows 10 technical preview update

3) After install, run all windows updates

4) Download and install virtualbox

5) At this point a WiFi internet may be connected but doesn't appear to be picked up by browsers (IE or Chrome)

6) Restart

What occurs now is a black screen where the mouse is visible. It will stay like so for 5 minutes then blue screen.

The following message appears to find out more information: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE or something similar.

Potentially related Virtual Box ticket: https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/13937

I should also mention that this affects build 9926 and 10041

I have a similar problem.

1) on a totally wiped SSD, i install the latest windows 10 that can be installed from a DVD (99something).

2) then using windows update i get 10041

3) repeat update until everything is updated.

4) install virtualbox 4.3.26 using default recommended settings

5) at this point, there is no networking in windows 10, and uninstalling virtualbox will result in the uninstaller halting.

i have tried several times.  The PC is an AMD 8core box with 32GB ram, so there should be no resouce problems

the pc have been running virtualbox on windows 10 earlier, but the 10041 seems not to be able to survive an install of virtualbox 4.3.26.
