Hi Eoghan,
Thank you for posting your query in Windows 10 Technical Preview.
I understand that you are unable to get the Dolby Digital sound output while using Windows 10 build 10041.
This usually occurs if the drivers installed are not capable of delivering the output from the sound card.
As you have already reinstalled the drivers hence it could have occurred due to the compatibility issues with the driver installed and the Operating System.
As per the manufacturer’s website, I see that there are no drivers available yet for Windows 10, hence I suggest you to remove the drivers that are installed and reinstall the drivers available for Windows 8.1
in compatibility mode and see if it helps.
Please follow the steps below to uninstall the drivers:
- Press Windows Key + R
- Type devmgmt.msc
- Right click on the audio driver and select
Uninstall
After uninstalling the driver, please download the audio driver from the link below and install the driver in compatibility mode:

To install the drivers in compatibility mode, follow the steps below:
- Right click on the setup file of the driver and select
Properties
- Select Compatibility Tab
- Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list
- Click OK and run the setup.
Hope this information helps, do let us know if you need further assistance.
