When a dialog box is displayed by an activeX control the dialog appears fine, control is returned to the calling script, which can continue to run script, BUT... the webpage is disabled and no longer responds - the only action left is to use task manager to shut it down.
This was not a problem in the release candidate, but is in the final version.
I think this is very similiar to an old problem which has a hotfix - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/983234 from wayback when IE6 was around.
Anyone else experienced this problem or has the hotfix?
Microsoft have got a fix for this. We're hoping that it will be rolled out in a cumulative patch in the next couple of months but for those of you who can't wait...
Add the following key to your registry
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\New Windows]

Hi Sandeep
Cheers for the reply.
I've opened a support case with microsoft and they have identified it is a bug after looking at some memory dumps.
For anyone else reading this I'll post up their findings when I hear something.
