Hi Mebah,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft community!

I understand that you have a trouble logging into facebook. I will try to help you resolve the issue as soon as possible.

1)      Have you made any changes prior to the issue?

2)      When exactly do you receive this error message?

3)      Which internet browser do you use?

Method 1:

Step 1: Safe mode with networking:

http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

Step 2: I would suggest you to keep the computer in the Clean Boot mode.

Putting your system in clean boot state helps in identifying if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.

Clean Boot

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" state

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: After clean boot troubleshooting step, follow the “Steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state” in the provided link to return your computer to Normal startup mode.

Method 2:

If issue happens even in safe mode with networking, then follow the steps below to check.  You can run Internet Explorer without add-ons by going to:

a.        Start

b.      All Programs

c.       Accessories

d.      System Tools and open Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

Step 1: If the problem goes away, an add-on is causing the problem. To identify what one is causing it, go to Tools, Manage Add-ons, change the Show option on the left to All Add-ons, select all add-ons on the list to the right and click Disable All.

Step 2: Restart Internet Explorer normally and go to Tools, Manage Add-ons again and enable each add-on one by one and test to identify the problematic add-on.

Method 3: How to reset Internet Explorer settings:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737

Note: The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might reset security settings or privacy settings that you added to the list of Trusted Sites. The Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature might also reset parental control settings. We recommend that you note these sites before you use the Reset Internet Explorer Settings feature.

Method 4: Perform a Virus scan on your Computer by clicking the link below

http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: Any data files that are infected may only be cleaned by deleting the file entirely, which means there is a potential for data loss.

Let us know the status of the issue. I will be glad to provide you with the additional options available that you can utilize to get the issue resolved.
