Question

Webpage error message -- no such interface supported

I have a new computer which has IE8 and Windows 7 32bit operating system preinstalled.  When I try to open an email or attachment or right click to open the file I get the message clipped below.
In my emails I am unable to open either emails or attachments although I can view the previews of the emails.
I am also unable to open using the right mouse 'Open in New Window' menu option.
This latter problem also applies to webpages -- I can not open multiple pages but must left click them open then backup through the pages.  I have checked that IE8 is my default browser, checked through Internet Options.
I've spent a fair bit of time trying to locate a similar problem but can only locate a solution using XP and I'm unable in Windows 7 to locate 'Tools|Folder Options' in Computer!!!  to try the fix recommended below.......   Appreciate your help
o Close Internet Explorer
o Select My Computer from the Start menu.
o Choose Tools | Folder Options... from the menu.
o Go to the File Types tab.
o Highlight (NONE) URL:HyperText Transfer Protocol.
o Click Advanced.
o Highlight open.
o Click Remove.
o Click Yes.
o Click OK.
o Now click Close.
o Start Internet Explorer.

Hi Azam,

Slow getting back -- wasted a lot huge amount of time doing all the Optimising/Malicious Full Scan etc, however I think we have a pretty good fix of my immediate problem.
My emails are running okay; Outlook 2007, Hotmail and Yahoo Xtra.

To help anyone else following this thread === None of the MS Support sites I visited, including the one you clipped above, mention that when Resetting IE8 Settings after you press Reset in Tools and the dialogue box appears asking you to 'close all programs and files' it doesnt advise you to Reboot your computer, reinstall IE8 then return to IE8 tools/advanced/reset/reset internet explorer settings.  I took the precaution of disabling my anti-spy/antivirus before the reboot.  This is all pretty logical but some may not immediately recognise the procedure -- sure had me baffled.  Thanks -- I appreciate your help.

The only residual problem I can identify is when trying to open photos and videos in the following MSN.NZNews Link I now get the following Error Signal:
This doesnt worry me too much as VoA.com and my other video news links, YouTube etc seem okay so far - - - - - if you have any advice I'd appreciate it.

Hi,

Which e-mail clint are you using?

Is this happen for all the mails or any particular mail?

Once you open computer from start menu just press alt key the tool bar appears where you have Tools options.

You can also try optimizing Internet Explorer and check if it helps, here is the link:
