I have come across a problem in IE8 with tabbed browsing. My tabbed browsing stopped working.
I ran the reset from the Tools > Internet Options> Advanced tab, rebooted and restarted IE8, no difference.
What I am getting is when I click Tools> Internet Options and Settings in the Tab Box, all the options are greyed out so I cannot enable Tabbed Browsing.
I have run searches on Microsoft Website and all they say is Reset the Internet options and enable tabbed browsing , which is what I want to do, but the sodding thing wont let me!!!!
Dell PC, Nvidea 256MB Graphics card, 250Gb Drive, Intel processor, dual 19" LCD monitors, 4GB RAM, Windows XP Pro.
Anybody out there have any ideas??
Hi,
Has tabbed browsing worked in the past?
Was a software change made recently such as a new security program, updates to a security program, updates from Microsoft, installation of *any* program which interacts with IE, etc?
Start Internet Explorer without add-ons by right-clicking the IE icon on the desktop. Choose Start without add-ons.
or
from Start> Programs> Accessories> System tools> Internet Explorer (no add-ons)
If the problem goes away, a browser add-on is casing it.

Hi,
In addition: would that be on a network (like at work) where policies are applied? In that case you might have a look at
The "Configure new tab page default behavior" Group Policy setting does not work on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 and that has Internet Explorer 8 installed (Hotfix)

Kind regards
