Windows automatically tries to update and restart the same updates over and over, now it will not let Safari Update either.

I have the Fix it Center but it is not Fixing the problem

Suddenly I can't send emails on my windows mail of my windows vista. I can receive emails.

When I try to send emails, I get this message.

"The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'sonata.mail.plala.or.jp', Sever: 'sonata.mail.plala.or.jp', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure (SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E".

I read other threads and have tried changing the SMTP port to 465 and 25, but neither of them worked.

I have always used a Japanese server and a Time Warner Road Runner for cable (on wireless connection) and that combination have always worked fine. But today, I can't send emails.

Yesterday I updated Norton Antivirus, and Windows Update. Maybe that could have caused the problem. Can someone help me please?

Well here's the story, I purchased a Acer aspire T180 a few years ago from Best Buy with Windows Vista installed. The only disk I received was a Vista Upgrade disc. Fast forward a few months ago, computer slowing down, etc. so I thought I would see about checking and maybe cleaning up the system some. Put my Upgrade disc in looking for the way to do this. Make the mistake of installing the upgrade. now I have the upgrade on my computer and it keeps telling me I have a version of windows that is not genuine. I have tried to use my COA on the upgrade disc, doesn't recognize, and the COA on the case of my Aspire, again with the same result.I have my old version under windows.old but can't seem to install it. Would like to just return to my Vista OEM install. I have access to another computer, but it's an Apple and would prefer if I didn't have to use this option, unless it makes it easier.I guess what I'm asking is just to get back to my legal version on this computer, would like to keep files, but if can't I would do a clean reinstall. Mine is out of warranty, so no help from Best Buy or Acer without paying them

Hi, I have an HP BOX Pavilion P6130f Desktop PC and the motherboard blowout. I buy a new mobo from tigerdirect.ca that will match my processor and my memory. I try to download Windows Vista Home Premium OEM CD from Microsoft Website. I am trying to register key on the box (Home Premium OEM) but it doesn't work. I try SLUI.EXE 4 but the only choice I have is to contact Dell to solve this problem. The new mobo is a MCP6P M2+ N668S+. Can you help me?

After IE crashed my email, I had to have my whole comuter recovered, and now the tool bars are no longer visible, and the zoom feature is gone from the bottom tray. Can this be reinstalled by me, or do I need to go back to the repair shop?

Hi, a friend gave me fcs3 used. It installed fine, everything working good, but after 30 to 60 minutes the screen flickers and the game stops running, and my desk-top appears. I don't recieve any error message at all, and I went to the microsoft help-topics for cfs3 website regarding specifically crashing problems in cfs3, of which there were a huge page full of symptoms and crash-types etc. but since I had no error-message number to refer to I read the entire thiing looking for sympoms and causes and resolutions, but found nothing applicable.

I tried restarting and program would run for awhile then crash and back to desk-top.

I tried uninstall and reinstall, but got same results.

I am new to onenote, I have at least 1 gigabyte in data in my one note program on one computer, I have (4) wanted to put this data on all 4 but I am having a problem. I transferred data to flash drive and installed it on second computer but onenote won't open data on second computer. I have also tried sending data to windows live using skydrive no such luck. Can you tell me where to get this info or can you tell me.

I've never had problems installing updates. Now, I've got 2 Office 2007 updates, KB2596672 and KB2596871 that fail to install giving an error code of 57. I've tried them separately with the same result. I have run Mr. Fix-it program and it makes no difference.

My activation key is a sticker on the bottom of my laptop which has now faded away and i am unable to see what the digits are. How do i re-activate. Successfully updated Windows on 16/4/12. Now, however, it won't update and I notice that my system is saying that "this copy of windows is not activated". It will not re-activate and gives error code 0x80070426. Have had this Acer laptop since 2008! Also, on system start-up, I get a message saying that the Microsoft Software Licencing Service has stopped working and was closed". I have had Norton running well before problem. Have run the Microsoft fix-it tool and it suggests that the location where Windows Update stores data has changed and must be repaired. Any ideas how to re-activate Windows?

Can I uninstall Windows Live Essentials without removing Microsoft Security Essentials? Are they linked?

I have been having problems with window installer. It will not install any updates or programs, software nothing. Everytime I tried, I get error 641. This just started last week and I have spend the entire week trying to fix it. I have tried everything I read, but nothing works. I don't have the recovery disks and I cannot made them up. I have already restore it to an earlier time, but the problem remains. It seems like Window installer got delete somehow. How can i reinstall it? I have tried downloading an updated version, but it won't go thru or it does not apply to my Vista 32 bit OS. The fix it program won't go thru either or does not find the problem. Help. I don't what to have the entire system reboot to factory setting unless there is no other choice. I can't even download the program to see if my laptop can be upgrade to Window 7.

I use it on a different computer now, and don't want it to load into memory when I power up on my work computer. It takes up quite a bit of memory, and is rumored to break the clipboard (cut, paste etc.) on MS Office. The help instructions for Vista say to first load Windows defender, but the WD on my computer won't start up. Is there a way to keep Skype from loading without going through WD? If I occasionally need Skype on my work computer I can load it at that time.

I ran AT&T PC Maintenance Tool (Performance). One of the issues was "broken start up items - Assistance required." There were a myriad of articles that came up re software, hardware, registry issues, etc. But I am not a teckie and the articles, pages of subheadings at times, but nothing specific about how to identify which broken start up items are being referred to, etc., etc., etc. Bottom line, I am totally lost. All those articles ... it's too much. I just want to fix the problem. ???? Is there not a reasonably 'simple solution' for us novices???? Wasn't even sure specifically which subheading below to select.

Can someone please give me an answer to my problem running vista home premium 64. When I plug my webcam (creative optia pro) into the USB port and then open skype and open the webcam the computer blue screens. I thought it might be a compatibilty problem so bought another webcam (trust elight full HD) and this does exactly the same. I have tried clean boot but still the problem occurs. The Intel website says all my drivers are up to date and now I don't know where else to go on this one. I have tried searching through the forums but as yet haven't foumd anything that will help.
