I have a Sony vaio laptop which was shipped with 64-bit windows 7 home . I want to install 33-bit windows 7 on my laptop . Can this be done ? How can I do it? And can I use the license key to register my 32-bit installation that I purchased with 64-bit windows 7 ?

I am trying to install Windows 7 64-bit on my computer. I get to 67% and then get an error code: 80070570. Going through the forums and microsft answers I have tried all suggestions that I have seen so far:

1. ran memtest for like 8 hours with no errors

2.removed a stick of ram

3.changed bios settings for SATA

4. unpugged all usb devices .

I am doing a clean install on a new SSD.

Nothing seems to work! Any help with this issue would be appreciated!!

I get this message after the XP Mode site runs windowsactivationupdate.exe, and yet, when I click on continue to download the 1st segment [which also used to work until ???] I'm back at windowsactivationupdate.exe all over again, endlessly, after many reboots.

What do I have to do to get XP Mode back in 32-bit WIn7Pro?

Well here's the story, I purchased a Acer aspire T180 a few years ago from Best Buy with Windows Vista installed. The only disk I received was a Vista Upgrade disc. Fast forward a few months ago, computer slowing down, etc. so I thought I would see about checking and maybe cleaning up the system some. Put my Upgrade disc in looking for the way to do this. Make the mistake of installing the upgrade. now I have the upgrade on my computer and it keeps telling me I have a version of windows that is not genuine. I have tried to use my COA on the upgrade disc, doesn't recognize, and the COA on the case of my Aspire, again with the same result.I have my old version under windows.old but can't seem to install it. Would like to just return to my Vista OEM install. I have access to another computer, but it's an Apple and would prefer if I didn't have to use this option, unless it makes it easier.I guess what I'm asking is just to get back to my legal version on this computer, would like to keep files, but if can't I would do a clean reinstall. Mine is out of warranty, so no help from Best Buy or Acer without paying them

Windows 7 Starter to update an ASUS Eee PC 901

Hi,

I own a ASUS Eee PC 901/XP, with Windows XP Home SP3 OEM.

I want to replace the standard 8GB SDD for a larger one (maybe 64GB SSD) and upgrade it from 1GB RAM to 2GB RAM.

So, my question is:

Is there any legal way to install Windows 7 Starter on my Eee, like upgrade the XP to Win7 (Starter)?

I'd tried another Eee with Win7 Strater and I liked it, I don't want the Home version because I think that will be to much for the little Intel Atom.

If I replace the SSD I will lose the XP OS, I will restart with an empty drive. Do I need the upgrade version or I need a full version?

I have purchased a refurbished windows 7 machine i purchased in the US. I am now out of country and trying to use the machine for the first time and when i enter the coa for activiation it says that it is not valid. The machine came from a certified microsoft refurbisher. does it have something to due with being in a foreign country and how do i fix it.

Windows suddenly reports my copy of WIndows is not genuine--but it is genuine.

I installed W7 Ultimate last year and it has been running with out problems until I installed Norton Internet Security 2012. After the Norton installation, Windows now reports that my copy of Windows is not genuine.

I tried to change my Product Key (using the Key on my COA), but got this result:

"A problem occurred when Windows tried to activate. Error Code 0x8007000D."

I tried a phone activation using slui.exe 4, but it fails because Windows reports my copy is not genuine.

I can not submit an email support request because MS support says that my Product ID does not match my location:

"The product ID number you entered is not supported in the country that you have selected."

I found instructions on re-activating on the MS support site, but it requires that I do a clean installation of Windows and I do not wish to do this.

I would like some advice on how I can resolve this issue and verify that my copy of Windows is indeed genuine.

I am thinking about upgrading my CPU, RAM, Mobo and GPU but keeping the same HDDs and hopefully not having to reinstall or reactivate Windows 7. All of my parts are retail boxed and assembled myself. Windows 7 is Retail boxed 7 Home Premium. Am I likely to run into any complications and are there any steps I should take before going ahead with the replacement?

Hi, I have an HP BOX Pavilion P6130f Desktop PC and the motherboard blowout. I buy a new mobo from tigerdirect.ca that will match my processor and my memory. I try to download Windows Vista Home Premium OEM CD from Microsoft Website. I am trying to register key on the box (Home Premium OEM) but it doesn't work. I try SLUI.EXE 4 but the only choice I have is to contact Dell to solve this problem. The new mobo is a MCP6P M2+ N668S+. Can you help me?

I am new to onenote, I have at least 1 gigabyte in data in my one note program on one computer, I have (4) wanted to put this data on all 4 but I am having a problem. I am attempting to activate Windows 7 by phone (because the machine doesn't have an internet connection) for a virtual machine ( I do have a separate liscense for the Virtual Box), but when I try to activate, the "show me other ways to activate" option is inactive (i.e. it is "grayed" out). I have been having problems with window installer. It will not install any updates or programs, software nothing. Everytime I tried, I get error 641. This just started last week and I have spend the entire week trying to fix it. I have tried everything I read, but nothing works. I don't have the recovery disks and I cannot made them up. I have already restore it to an earlier time, but the problem remains. It seems like Window installer got delete somehow. How can i reinstall it? I have tried downloading an updated version, but it won't go thru or it does not apply to my Vista 32 bit OS. The fix it program won't go thru either or does not find the problem. Help. I don't what to have the entire system reboot to factory setting unless there is no other choice. I can't even download the program to see if my laptop can be upgrade to Window 7.

Ok here's the deal. I've screwed up while installing Windows 8 consumer preview and I got it installed onto the wrong drive. Before I proceed with trying some options to undelete data I wanted to know if windows does a full format (as in writes in 0s) or is it something equivalent to a quick format with just the file tables getting erased?

Also, unrelated? My Microsoft Sql Express (appears to be 2005) service keeps stopping....causing fits with the same scheduling program. All okay once I restart thru Microsoft SQL Express 2005 configuration manager.... this program not mentioned by Upgrade Advisor. Hope this makes sense.

Re-tasking a laptop after replacement

I will be upgrading my wife's laptop in the next few days. However, I will not be selling or otherwise scrubbing my wife's lap top; it'll be retasked for other uses.

Now, my wife is no where new the technical level of most today. Her primary use is for gaming (and NOT the sophisticated games of today; but more like POGO type games.) She has loaded a lot of those type games on her current PC (we have the disks) and paid for/downloaded others. Some play nice, others don't.

Either way, I need to move just the licensed software from my wife's old PC to the new PC and have it operate as it always has.

Windows 7 appears to have a solution to this, called "Transfer files and settings from another computer". What I don't know is will it do the job? I don't care about leaving any trace of what is on my wife's current system, other than the OS (Win 7 Home Edition).

Are there other products better suited to this type of activity? Does any solution transfer the license keys and the product or just the product and the license keys have to be re-entered?

I hope there is someone out there than can show the way on this seemingly simple to-do.

Hij heeft 2 weken prima gedaan. Ik sluit 's avonds de volgende morgen doet hij het niet meer. Bij het installeren krijg ik de volgende foutmelding:
