I have an Office CD which came with my current PC. I am planning to upgrade/replace it. Can I use the CD to install Office 2007 on my new unit?

When I tried to download BCM I got a reply that I am not eligible.

I currently run Office 2000 Standard on a PC with Windows XP, Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3. As Outlook, in particular, is geting a bit clunky, and Office 2000 is no longer supported, I have bought Office 2010, Home and Business. I wish to preserve the existing e-mails, contacts and Calendar entries in the 2010 version, but the instructions offer no guidance on this, particularly as I understand that Office 2003 and later use a different file type to store these data. Would you please offer some guidance, including whether I should uninstall Office 2000 before attempting toinstall Office 2010? Thanks in anticipation.

I have the Student version of Microsoft Office installed on my current computer. I will be getting a new one. If Microsoft Office is not preinstalled, can I transfer my activated copy to a new machine.

My daily program is going crazy.. Having strange problem with Office 2010. I see some folks are having similar issues. I installed Windows 8 and was having some problems so I had to format my disc and start all over with Win 7 and then upgrade again to Windows 8. Everything seems to be working fine except for Office 2010. Under help it says I have an expired Trial Version. Never had trial, only disc copy so that is very strange. Then when I try to validate with original code, it says non valid code! It was installed and working fine before my 2nd Win 8 install.

Also FYI, I still have Widows 8 and same version of Office on my LapTop and they are working fine. And of course, no customer service to call so I will try here.. Any suggestions??

One other unrealted problem I can not find an answer to is my mouse cursor disappears every time I reboot. Using Microsoft Wireless mouse. Tried everything with settings and drivers and batteries..

Mouse pointer constantly busy after upgrading to Office 2010

Anyone know why my mouse pointer is constantly spinning since I upgraded my Office suite?

Even when I reboot and open nothing, the cursor spins for 3-5 seconds then stops for 3-5 seconds, then repeats.

It never did this before. What could be taking these resources?

I wish I'd read this and some other posts earlier.

I already had Office 2007 on my computer. I did not make any changes to it before installing the Office 2010 trial. Both were on my computer.

I decided not to get Office 2010 and uninstalled the trial. Everything has been messed up ever since. I know Office 2007 is still there somewhere, because I have Word 2007 and PowerPoint 2007 pinned to my taskbar, but I no longer see them in my programs folder and can no longer click to open documents. I need to go first to PowerPoint or Word 2007 from the taskbar, open them there, and then open the document I want.

I have tried to set Word 2007 and PowerPoint 2007 as defaults for .doc and .pptx files, but they do not appear in the list of available programs from the control panel.

I tried a system restore to before I uninstalled Office 2010 but that has not solved anything (the trial has since expired so I can't use it.)

I am afraid to just uninstall both Office 2007 and the 2010 trial and then reinstall 2007 (it was preinstalled when I bought this Dell, Windows 7 64 bit, but have the installation CD, unopened.) I have several years worth of emails in Outlook and cannot bear the headache of losing them and/or needing to save and reconfigure everything.

If I had anticipated any of this I would never, ever have gotten the Office 2010 trial. I am very frustrated. Can anyone help?

I've just bought a new desktop PC with Windows 7 - it also came preloaded with MS Office 2010. I've also bought a copy of Office Home & Business 2010 which comes with the 64 bit & 32 bit versions on CD. Can I just use the activation code that comes with the package and get access to all of the Home & Business products or do I have to load from the CD (64 bit version)? If I load it from the CD do i have to delete the pre-loaded software first?

Any tips for transferring an Office PKC license from a dead computer to my new one?

I have a PKC. Unfortunately, I cannot uninstall from my old computer because it died -- completely! As it is, I may have to bring it in somewhere to recover files. Do you have any tips for transferring the license from a dead computer to my new one? I've tried the phone activation thing, but it completely shut me off and said that I could not activate Office on this computer. It did not offer any other alternatives short of purchasing a new license.

Any suggestions would be great!

Outlook 2010 reinstall

I have reinstalled Office Home & Business 2010 in order to get around problems with the first installation, but now when I try and add a new account/data file I get a message "There was an error locating one of the items needed to complete this operation. It might have been deleted". I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling to no effect. Ideas? Do I need to delete/change registry entries? Should I remove any other files on uninstall?

I downloaded microsoft office professional 2010 trial, I open my downloads menu and selected the program to be installed into my computer. After it extracted the program I entered the product key. It verified the product key and nothing happen. On the screen the product key page has not moved in the last 20 minutes. I called but noone has been able to help me. I couldn't open Word or Excel 2010 this morning. WIndows 7 automatically updated when I shut down last night. All my files were converted to Word 2007 and I was prompted to enter my product code for 2007 student Office. It appears that I have lost 2010 Office Home and Student.

my product key is saying it is invalid for my microsoft home and student 2007. I have only downloaded it on 1 computer and I have 2 avaialbe downlads left. Does anyone know a solution?

1. Tried "change", the " repair" from control panel

2. Tried to uninstall, then reload "microsoft 2010 home & student" to no avail

My Microsoft Office was working FINE until I did a Windows Update. After the update, I was stuck with the "Starter" version, which eliminates my ability to work on only half a screen because of advertisements. I had a paid and functional MS Office before the update. How can I get rid of the "Starter" program and go back to the way it was? I'm hunting for my install discs, but the Windows Update overwrote it once. How can I be sure it won't just "update" and downgrade me again? Even worse, if I can't find those discs, then uninstalling is out of the question. If it comes to that, I'm not paying for a second set of Office programs, I'd rather just move to a different company. This is a version of Office that was paid for, why am I being stuck with "Starter" and having to endure the ads? Reducing the window almost eliminates my typing space.

It all started when I couldn't open office, i got this error

"Click to start manager

Microsoft Office 2010 cannot be opened. Try again or repair the product in control panel."

So i go to the control panel and tried to repair it, but it says it can't be done because i'm not connected to the internet, but i obviously am.

So then i thought i should do uninstall install. But i can't install it again! when its downloading it tells me i'm not connected to the internet

Please help me! i don't know what to do.

I've just started a new job and the systems here are in dire need of updating.

I have found that several machines already have Office 2007 Enterprise installed, using what I suspect is a pirate copy of Office 2007 Enterprise created by my predecessor.

I just want to make the installations legal by having licenses keys to cover them.

I bought a Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 with what I recalled were 7 licenses. My main laptop died and I installed the program into another unit, entering the product key but it gave a message that all licenses were used already. Is there a way that one of the units that had the program installed get ´cleared´ to allow my laptop to use the program? I am currently running Windows 7 on my desktop PC. It is 32-bit version and therefore using half of the 4GB Ram. To get 64-bit Windows I plan on completely reinstalling the opperating system from a disk (will replace with Windows 8).
