I'd already attempted Device Manager, but that failed to recognize the drives.
What solved it was going through BIOS and "Load Optimized Defaults".
If this problem crops up again, I'll try the "compatibility" solution.
Again, thanks!

Can someone please tell me what I need to do to fix this problem I already uninstalled it once and then looked for the driver on Toshiba's website and installed it and this is the Errors I got even after the new Driver being installed. I apologize if I sound completely lost but the truth is I'm not very tech-savvy. I appreciate any help you can offer!

Following upgrade to windows 10 from windows 7, I had many problems including getting shut out from my computer because the password control assumed a US keyboard whereas a French keyboard was installed (solved by using on screen keyboard.
This morning 3 days after upgrade the keyboard and mouse were inactive because the generic USB hub was not working. I attach screenshot of the event details and the kernal error message

Hi Nicholas,
Thanks for posting your query to Microsoft forum.
I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps to resolve your issue:
Step 1: Follow the steps to update drivers from the Device Manager:
- Right click on Start button, type Device Manager and Enter.
- Find the drivers which needs to be installed and also see something with a yellow exclamation, probably under the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" category. If yes, update it.
- Right click whatever device has a yellow exclamation and select "Uninstall".
- Go to the "Actions" Menu at top. Select "Scan for hardware changes". Windows will hopefully recognize the device now and load the proper driver.
Step 2: If the issue persists, try updating the drivers in compatibility mode.
Download the drivers from the computer manufacture's website for Windows 10, if not available.
Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.
a. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.
b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.
d. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

I have 2 apparently identical USB Composite Devices on my desktop computer. One migrated successfully, the other did not. I have uninstalled it and it re-installs automatically when I re-boot it. There are no such drivers for windows 10 and when I try to update Microsoft tells me that the drivers are up- to-date. I have no idea how to update drivers in compatibility mode as the process seems to be automatic. I would certainly not have upgraded my computer from windows 7 to windows 10 if I had known that i would have this problem. I have not been able to update the drivers for the intel motherboard P55WB which does not seem to be supported.
I believe Microsoft should not recommend migration to windows 10 without checking that the computer is capable of migrating successfully.
